[pct-l] 1/3 of hikers start at end of April in monumental snow year?

That's right. 1/3 of PCT hikers will be starting their hikes at the
end of April, a 5 day window, April 27 - May 1.

It's crystal clear that an 'Artificial Day Zero (ADZ)' dictated a year
in advance has become so pervasive hikers will largely abandon any
reason when selecting a start date, even in a near record snow year
such as this.

The dirty little secret? Hikers will be stacked up in Kennedy Meadows
come June. All the snow courses in the world won't change this fact.
Some folks in position to create change simply don't care. Argue, rip
and rant this statement all you want, but it can't be denied.

Note: this info is based on hiker start data found at postholer.com,
48 of 151 registered hikers will be starting during the above stated
time frame.
