[pct-l] tips for someone just starting?

Buy Yogi's Guide! That was my first step and it was worth every penny, in my
opinion. The one I bought (in spring 2010) had some actual pieces of gear
people recommended that now seem outdated (sorry Yogi), but the general
ideas behind those recommendations and all the rest of the advice were
really good.
