I got an email today from someone who hiked the Devil's Punchbowl  
trail. This is on the Station Fire detour. I think it look  
interesting enough to make a special trip to visit. So for all you  
who are dreading the detour, take a look. It might make you feel  
better. I think it looks more interesting than the Angeles Crest  
Highway roadwalk most people did in 2008 after it snowed on Memorial  
Day weekend.
