Or you could hike with someone who has pyrokinesis.  They'd have to have pretty tight control over it, though.  Think about it:  no stove (they'd heat your food in your bowl while you watch); no water treatment (they could fry all the microbes with a single thought); no sleeping bag (well, one of you would have to carry the 2-person tent, but they'd keep it all nice and toasty every night).
