[pct-l] FYI: Denatured alcohol availability in So Cal

I believe the rule allows products to stay on the shelves for a specified
period of time, though some retailers and distributors pull the products
right away.
Still don't know if our local hardware store can order Heet or marine stove
fuel, which is simply denatured alcohol with labeling that does not indicate
solvent uses. She placed an order to see if her distributor would fill it.
She showed me on her last order invoice where numerous products were banned
and no longer available, including some water-based paint (??). That must
be covered under some other rule.
I fear I will soon be running a denatured alcohol smuggling ring.

Re: Is HEET not available in San Diego now?
I found it (Heet) at Wal-mart despite not finding the denatured alcohol at
one of our stores in Chula Vista a few days ago. I discussed the lack of
denatured alcohol with two department employees, both of whom said it was
recalled and removed from the shelves.
I still found yellow Heet that same day in the same store and I bought some.
I haven't checked stores like Home Depot, Sports Authority, and Big 5 in my
area. But I'm assuming if Heet is still available at Wal-mart then it is
still available elsewhere, just maybe not the denatured alcohol.
