Hi All,
as discussed previously, there is one significant disadvantage to this. Per
Garmin:
> This download only may be used on 1 compatible device. Data downloaded to
> a microSD/SD card is associated with the device you select during the
> download process. Please purchase additional quantities for additional
> devices.
So if you use 2 GPS in your group, you have to buy 2 copies. Also I don't
know if and how well these topo maps will display in BaseCamp on your
computer.
For most people, buying the TOPO 24K DVD West is a better deal -- use with
multiple Garmin devices & covers Washington, Oregon, Nevada and California.
Also I don't know how accurate the PCT is shown. In TOPO 24K, it seems
there are a lot of discrepancies, either because the data has not been
updated or the route shown was a preliminary or temporary route. If someone
gets the PCT download, maybe they can compare what is shown there with
halfmile's actual GPS tracks.
