Just to echo that, I think Paul is spot on. I hiked the PCT in 1991 -
just a kid at the the time. Fuller ridge was (and remains) a very
serious endeavor. Late that summer I hiked with an experienced
40-something (which is my age now) who hit Fuller ridge one week before
myself. He ended up with quite serious frostbite while I escaped
unscathed, but with real awe and understanding of what mountains that
big can do in April.

Do not overstate the dangers of San jacinto...  There are lots of
bailing opportunities,  and I can't think of a better place to wait
for the weather to clear than idyllwild.  The highest of it can be
passed in an afternoon.  If I recall correctly Fuller ridge is only 4
miles.  That said microspikes and an iceaxe may come in handy... But
its certainly not impossible without it.

Last year several hikers who got together and waited for a clear day
to pass...  At 90$ for a cabin that sleeps 8 or camping for 4$ish a
night;  cheap food and good layout;  as long as you don't rush into it
and ignore the weather you can avoid 90% of the risk.

In 7 days it'll be 80 degrees and all that fresh snow will be gone.  A
week ago idyllwild hit 98F.

Going into the mountain in that weather could be a death sentence...
But avoiding doing so is easy.
