Do not overstate the dangers of San jacinto... There are lots of bailing opportunities, and I can't think of a better place to wait for the weather to clear than idyllwild. The highest of it can be passed in an afternoon. If I recall correctly Fuller ridge is only 4 miles. That said microspikes and an iceaxe may come in handy... But its certainly not impossible without it.

Last year several hikers who got together and waited for a clear day to pass... At 90$ for a cabin that sleeps 8 or camping for 4$ish a night; cheap food and good layout; as long as you don't rush into it and ignore the weather you can avoid 90% of the risk.

In 7 days it'll be 80 degrees and all that fresh snow will be gone. A week ago idyllwild hit 98F.

Going into the mountain in that weather could be a death sentence... But avoiding doing so is easy.
