kylie,

assuming you take sugar moma up on such a wonderfully generous offer ...

you could catch the amtrak on the 24'th at 8:30 9:40 11:10 12:25PM 1:55PM
3:10PM 4:50PM 5:45PM 7:00PM

etc.etc.

it is going to be 44$ though (not 31). will take 2Hrs and 45 minutes, and on
the other end i would recommend you ask kindly for scout and frodo to help you
out... if they can't they can point you towards who can.

if you want their email i can send it to you. they can then get you to campo.

best of luck,

~Paul

Kylie...give me a call when u get into LAX. I'm about an hour away but I should
be in town til Mon. the 25th. I can take u to REI and where ever u need to go.
LA is a HUGE city and hard to get around if u don't have a clue. U can crash at
my place...just so u know we have three big dogs and a kitty...so u have to be
ok with them. I won't be goin to KO til Frid...have some other plans in between
but will get u ur supplies, gear and to Amtrak!

Sugar Moma

I'm flying in on the 23rd, get to los angeles at 13:20. when i googled
amtrak last night i think it said $44 - possibly cheaper on a weekday? was
looking at staying at the ocean beach international hostel, cos i need a few
days to buy supplies and a phone and ice axe (and it's the cheapest hostel i
could find). but i've just re-read the bit in yogi's book about angels in
san diego, and i might break through my fear of imposing and email around
and see if there's any availability left.
thanks heaps for the feedback so far - amtrak felt much more appealing when
i was googling it all...
