Paul
Good point. I have been doing this outside with pretty good wind
protection. For the record, 28 boils was it, I was not able to get another
one.
As an average, I think I would be comfortable cutting this by 40% for field
conditions of wind, elevation and temperature. So say 17, 2 cup boils which
would be 17 days for me.
How would that relate to your actual number of 2 cup boils for that 1st
section?
Stove is a Snow Peak LiteMax Titanium.

last season i used a canister ... and at home i loved using it on low, but
the dessert is windy, and i had to keep it at full bore just to get heat to
the pot... the two of us went through two 8 oucne cans by warner springs
due to wind and snow.
it was very hard to erect a good windscreen, eventually i made one out of a
parabolic reflector for a garag light from lowes for 4$... just cut the
bottom wide enough to set on the canister, and then screwed my stove over
the top.

Yes I think it does. I have kept the setting almost as low as possible and
not trying to boil supper fast. Keeping the flame under the pot and not
going outside.
I have also found that my GSI teapot is a more efficient boiler that the GSI
solo pot. By about 1 minute on low.
