[pct-l] Bear Canisters

Hi Dan,
I'd say not. I don't know how many miles you can do a day, but they are only
located in a few places. You can get a list for Yosemite by going to the the
"backcountry" part of their site and find a list of locations. Maybe other
areas have a similar list. The only ones in YNP I know about are on roads,
in Little Yosemite Valley, at High Sierra Camps and....well, that's it. I'm
not sure if it's legal to walk during the day w/o a canister--I guess I
don't see why not as long as you protect your food and pack by having it
always very close to where you are....I think they usually they say "within
arm's reach" if you have exposed/available food.....they count toothpaste
and soap etc. as "food" also.
