[pct-l] If not alcohol (stove), then what?

the problem I've had with an esbit is that if you're going to boil something (like mac n cheese), you use a lot of fuel tablets and you had to sit over the stove to make sure the tablet didn't burn out.  I also don't know how they respond at the altitudes you find on the PCT.
