[pct-l] criminal conviction for leaving water cache in desert overturned by 9th U.S. Court of Appeals

  The 9th Circuit U.S. Court of Appeals today reversed the criminal 
conviction of the man charged with a crime for leaving water bottles in 
the Arizona desert.   The court held that a reasonable person might not 
understand that leaving drinking water for thirsty people could 
constitute littering and that the statute was, therefore, impermissibly 
vague to support a criminal prosecution.
