Unless there has been significant trail maintance to the stock trail, I
would not encourage anyone to take it. The trail had not been maintained
when Mother Goose and I hiked it in 2008 and I referred to it as the high
and low hurdles for wildlife. There were numerous downed trees. When I
spoke to greyhair this summer, she affirmed what I observed two years
earlier. She rode that section on her horse.

I think if you just take the PCT stock trail which avoids the area adjacent
to the Lake you will be fine.? I know in '08 there were some people with a
dog and that is what they did.
