Subject: [pct-l] cuben fiber

>What is cuben fiber? Details appreciated.

It is an expensive waterproof material that like Spinnaker came from the sailing
industry for making lightweight sails. It is used to make lightweight shelters,
very lightweight backpacks, stuff sacks and recently I saw an UL down quilt made
from it. Its very light and strong but has issues with abrasion resistance.
Many of the UL hikers have some sort of gear made from it like my tarp.
