Wow! You heard it here first!..The 9oz Ray Way thruhiker pack is now too
heavy! The '70s thruhikers are rolling over in their Lazyboys... I have also
been intrigued by ZPacks website since he is creating some truly cutting
edge Cuben cloth gear. I saw BigTime carrying a ZPack going sobo in the
Three Sisters last Aug. He was happy enuf with the pack, but was carrying a
full reload from Cascade Locks to Crater lake, knew it was too much weight,
and hiked along with a smile. I have many photos from my 2010 Oregon hike
pending to upload, but here's BigTime.

Anyone have any experience with ZPacks? I'm seriously considering buying
one. I currently use a Ray-Way (a DIY version of the GoLite Breeze).
For my uses, the Ray-Way is tad-bit too heavy (at 9 oz) and has a little
more capacity than I use (I think it has 3,700 cui). I don't think I'll
need more than about 2,600 cui.

I'm eyeballing the ZPack "Zero" (Large cuben fiber version) with a center
pocket (total weight 3.05 ounces).
