I also have the 11th edition. It was my early Bible for Sierra Nevada backpacks --- lots of good ideas for hikes and info about them and about trailheads. I used to carry it with me, along with USGS topo maps! Saw lot of others with it on the trail. In the early 1970s, it was universally accepted as the guidebook, at least in my neck of the woods.
