According to the PCT web site:
"The PCT is classified as a non-mechanized trail. Bicycles, off-road vehicles of any kind, or other mechanical means of travel are not allowed, as they can present a significant danger to hikers and equestrians on narrow sections of the trail. "

Read what I wrote, not what you think I wrote.
I surmise there are hikers on this list who support increased funding for
the PCT, maybe for trails in general, and maybe even for national parks.
Even if they do support increased funding for the PCT, trails, and parks;
the reality is that the PCT, trails, and parks get funding cuts in the
general cut taxes and cut spending. The big general support for spending
and tax cuts overwhelms their individual support for trails and parks.
