Subject: [pct-l] McNuggets Don't Spoil?

My preference for carrying fast food while hiking is Del Taco's Macho Combo
burritos at over 1000 calories each. I've carried them on several hikes.
You tell them to hold the sour cream and they will hold for several days.
Hot sauce can act as a mild perservative. I've always wondered why so few
thru-hikers discover the Del Taco just across the Freeway there at Cajon.

I carried 2 of them from the mexican border when I left at 2pm and that 2nd
one never tasted so good at Lake Morena the next day. The pizza I carried
out of Aqua Dulce, the Double Whopper I carried out of Tehachapi, the pizza
out of Cascade Locks, the cheap cheeseburger from the Chevron warmer at
Snoqualmie Pass, and the large sandwich from the store at Baren by the
Dinsmores are all good memories as they all tasted far better on the trail
then the food I normally carried. Looking back I wished I had carried more
food like that out of town.
