Sounds like with your Rainshadow 2 that it was either pitched wrong or manufactured wrong.  Did you contact the tarptent folks about that?  They seem to be pretty helpful.

  I love my Big Agnes Fly Creek 1.  The 2 was a bit cramped for 2. Also  
  nice is the BA Copper Spur 2.  I'm getting a Double Rainbow tarptent  
  to see what that's like.  Had the Rainshadow 2, but didn't like that  
  the bathtub side always lay on the ground whatever I did, so I figured  
  Id get wet in a storm.
  Why're you going with a Lunar Duo rather than a tarptent?
