Yes.  Three rescues - and that's disgraceful. If common sense is your guide and you are looking out for the safety and well-being of your horse, you should not need to be "rescued" even once.
 
As I said, this woman was a risk taker who relied on prayer and God ( instead of the intellegence and common sense that God gave us}, to get her through anything. She even tried to cross Forester Pass in late June.  Found herself forgeing through and sinking into, four feet of snow.  She then decided to turn back. She had cut up her horses' legs badly on the talus hidden beneath the snow and left " a trail of blood all the way back to Horseshoe Meadows" (her own description).  She then bandaged thier legs and had to take about two weeks off healing time. That is why I was asked to write an article on horse safety on the PCT for the Long Riders Guild.
