Last summer on the PCT,I wore a pair of railrider pants and shirt which are made out of Duralite Nylon and I found that the Sawyer spray on Permithrin bonded well with my clothing and hat. I sprayed it on heavily at Kennedy Meadows and mosquitos never did bite through it.

>From my previous Sierra experiences they would have bit through my shirt numerous times without the Permithrin. As it isn't a repellent, they'd still land and crawl around, but they'd quickly fly off without trying to bite through. I only resorted to using my DEET (Ultrathon loion) for 2 really bad days in Northern Yosemite when they finally started going for my hands even when I was moving. The permithrin still seemed to be working somewhat 2months latter in mid-Oregon and I never felt the need to reapply it to my clothing.
