[pct-l] Solar Charger

I just got it and was very pleasantly surprised. It comes with Sanyo Eneloop batteries. These are generally considered to be the best AA rechargeable batteries.

It does not come with any usb cables. I guess that's okay since I have plenty laying around. It gives me a good excuse to buy a short cable and adapter to save a little bulk and weight anyway.

The film really does feel like a kind of film, which hopefully means it's less likely to break.

Everything seems overbuilt. I bet they could drop an ounce or two if they built the battery holder out of thinner plastic and used thinner fabric for the rest. Maybe they'll make a ultralight version in the future?

I may try to test it before I start my hike. I have a charger that can discharge batteries and then tell how much energy it puts back into them when it charges. So maybe I can discharge it, charge it with the solar charger for a few hours, and then stick it into the fancy countertop charger to see how successful the solar charger was.
