If you would like to see what the Hat creek rim PCT looked like in 1989, 2 years after the Lost Fire ran up on the rim I have a Picasa web album where I put some scanned slides that I took while on the PCT in March-April of 1989. This is interesting because a similar fire cruised up and over the rim last summer. The link is:
