When I read this years ago I was also just so sad for the snake. Then I
thought about it and I just chalked it up to - boy times have changed.


Years ago I was standard practice to just kill all rattlesnakes.  I mean if
you didn't maybe someone else would come across it and die.  You were doing
a service to mankind by killing these dangerous beasts.

Luckily we are a little smarter about some things today.  Of course forty
years from now people will be looking back on how we did things way back in
2010 and just shake their heads and think how uneducated we were, at least I
hope so.
