[pct-l] VVR

Since nobody else seems to be doing so, may I make a point of clarification?
The times I was there, I didn't see just random things on the shelves like
it was some kind of swap meet with just whatever they salvaged they were
putting on the shelves to make a buck. But some resupply packages might
have had UNOPENED Mountain House meals, or UNOPENED containers of XYZ that
just about any hiker would find at REI or the local outdoor/camping store.
I seriously doubt that someone who hadn't been persuaded by rumors or
whatever would be any the wiser if they were to resupply from the shelves @
the VVR. They DON'T have opened food or "What's his name's" secret formula
PCT food, or ANYTHING like that!
I've got a great idea, how bout EVERY PCT hiker make a stop at the VVR this
year and see for yourselves. The lake will be ~85% so U can ride the ferry
roundtrip & save 11miles, check out the shelves with your own eyes, eat a
meal or two, listen to Lester at the bonfire while petting feather (Jim's
beautiful puppy...though more like a dog now!). :D

Bill,
Are the hiker items displayed for resale labeled as to the source?
Commingled with like items?
I don't have a problem with resale, but I would like to know the
source when making a purchase decision. I have different expectations
regarding condition/quality when I fish something out of hiker food
vs. what I get off a store shelf. I think others might as well. I
know PCT hikers will eat anything that doesn't run faster than them,
but I still think that info should be available.
