You probably won't have to carry 12 days of food unless it's a choice
you are making. And you'll never have to carry the bear can and 6
liters of water at the same time. And if you manage your water well,
you may not ever have to carry 6 liters of water at once, either.

20 pounds before food and water isn't horrible, but it seems a little
heavy for the small amount of items you list. What about the weight
of the pack itself?
- Can you try an alcohol stove or take a small canister stove and
eliminate excess pots/pans/silverware so you're carrying only a spoon
and a pot?
- If you have money, can you get a tarptent?
- If you have money, can you get a sub-2lb sleeping bag?
- Can you sleep on a closed cell pad or purchase a lighter inflatable?
- What is in that first aid and small misc items/repair kit? Do you
really need all that junk?

Can you carry 50lbs on your back happily? If the answer is yes, you
can disregard all the above.
