[pct-l] Warner Springs - Permit Question

Anza Borrego Desert State Park does not require permits (unless you
have a really big group), except for the California campfire permit.
(And, they do not allow ground fires and you have to carry out all
charcoal and ash!)

BTW, there are TWO Mt. San Jacinto Wilderness areas on the mountain.
The first you come to is part of San Bernardino National Forest, the
second is Mt. San Jacinto Wilderness State Park, and then you reenter
the NF wilderness. For day hiking you only need a permit from the
first wilderness area you enter (the NF) and the other will honor it.
But, neither honors the others wilderness permit for camping. The good
news is, very few thruhikers camp in the state park wilderness as the
PCT is only in it from about Strawberry Junction to half way down
Fuller Ridge.

Oh, and no, neither state park allows dogs on their trails.
