I recommend speaking with a local independent insurance agent.  They
will be familiar with companies offering both short term health care
as well as regular health insurance.  Health insurance can't be sold
across state lines, so specific advice from PCT-L readers would only
be applicable if they are from your state.

You might be eligible for COBRA also--depends on how you were
previously receiving health insurance.
