Duck pass is a fast, if well-used, entry pt. Expect nightly bear visits on both sides of the pass and for a few lakes south - they are, of course, investigating to see if you have an approved cannister or not. Cruz Control.

Woo hoo! I got my permit. I decided to go SOBO from Duck Pass. Easier
to get on the trail from there than Bishop Pass. By mid-August I hope
the mosquitoes have thinned a little. The snow and creeks, too.
