Dear lauren

I think Ms Diane's suggestion is right.
It is better to re-supply at Independence or Bishop.

I calculated your basic metabolism, you need at least 1500Kcal only to
survive. I also calculated your needed calories when you hike on the
moderate terrain by Japanese web site. If you carry 10 Kg(about 20
pound) backpack, you need about 5300Kcal. But there is much snow this
year, so you would need more calories.

During neither my AT thru hike nor my first 652 miles of the PCT have I ever planned a mail drop nor put much thought into resupply. As I prepare to send my food to Kennedy Meadows, I am a bit overwhelmed. A few questions...

And keep in mind that I've already hiked 652 miles, so I've got a pretty big appetite. I was thinking I'd pick up a stick of butter at the Kennedy Meadows Store if possible and maybe some cheese and olive oil if they have it, but I want to keep the food as light as possible. I've never come near to carrying 10 days worth of food and am a little worried about how my pack and I will handle the extra weight.
