I wrote my friend John Lyons. He's with both the PCT and Back Country Horsemen. I thought you would like to hear how he and his crews are trying to clear the trail of blow downs.

They did tell me about you visit and it is great to hear you are getting stronger. We are working where ever we can get to with out being turned back by snow. In section "O" we have spent 6 days with saws and have only cleared from the top of Girade to all most Deer Creek. This is the worst blow down that I have ever seen. The same folks you talked to at Squaw cr. are going to I-5 soda cr in the AM and try to see if they can get to the top. Almost every tree top is missing for the 15 miles we have cleared.
