Go with the Sublite - the biggest deal is how airy it is - no or very little condensation like most single wall tents. I used 1 on the JMT the last 2 summers - it's roomy for 1 person and their pack/ gear.

Anyone have any experience with ultralite Tarptents? I'm considering buying
the Sublite for $179 at 18.5 oz. My other option is a Eureka Solitaire tent
for 1/3 the price at 41 oz. I'm going to be backpacking for 2 months from
Ashland to Kennedy Meadows (or thereabouts) in July and August. I'm not an
experienced backpacker so I'm not sure how big a difference those additional
22 ounces would make. Any thoughts?

p.s. if there is another forum/email list I should be posting gear questions
to, let me know.
