What maps do people usually bring on the trail with them and where do you
get them? I have the Pacific Crest Trail Data Book which I plan to bring
with me, but shouldn't I have some maps, too? Also, do the resupply stops
(e.g. General Delivery addresses) correspond to Trail Heads? (I'm going to
be starting in Ashland on July 1st and hiking south for July and August.)
Thanks.

Good morning, Cate,

I much prefer HalfMile?s map PDFs available for free download at:
http://www.pctmap.net/index.html You can review maps for the entire PCT and
print only those portions that you need.

Enjoy your planning,

We're planning to hike north from Castle Crags starting in July.??I read on a recent forum that snow levels in that area are currently 4-5'.?

I'd like to keep a watch on snow levels during the next few weeks. Do any of the snotel?data? points correspond to points along the PTC??If not, is there any other source for tracking snow?levels in northern CA and southern OR?? I've looked at Postholer, but some data seems to be missing, and I don't know?which names to look at.
