Hi Symbiosis, Lassen National Forest asks people to hang their food, and I think the other parks in that direction might, too. They are somewhat fussy but I don't think they will fine you if you get caught. You might want to bring some rope with you. But they don't require bear cannisters. Happy hiking, Jay
