[pct-l] Hot Hikin' and Cold Water

Has anyone else noticed dizzyness after drinking cold water on a thruhike?
I thought it was just cause I was a "light weight" drinker but after a long difficult stretch of trail and upon immediate drinking of any cold beverage I got dizzy/lightheaded for 10 minutes. The effect was more pronounced the further I got along the PCT but has since vanished. I read and account similar to mine in Rich Mallery's book and wondered how widespread the phenomena might be.
