[pct-l] Oregon Snowpack at 61% normal

Well, early I'd say. Looking at weather cams right now I see way low snow most places (Government Camp is almost show-free).
Looks like Crater Lake area has the most snow, so once it has no snow it should be smooth sailing.

Here is the Oregon Snowtel site: http://www.or.nrcs.usda.gov/snow/maps/oregon_sitemap.html

It depends on 2 variables: the snowpack on April 1st and how warm the spring is. The higher snow could hang on
if we have a very cool spring like we did in 2008.

I tend to be a later season hiker so I'll let someone else with early season experience toss a dart at the calendar....

Thru hikers will hit a dry Oregon hike: Honeymoon Creek to Windigo Pass will be brutal. On the up side, you might not get eaten alive by all the bugs if the snowpack melts way early.
