I'm afraid that unless it stops raining, the only time you'll get to  
take a break to air out your feet is when you sleep at night. So keep  
a spare pair of socks that you never wear on the trail or sleep  
barefoot (actually, barefoot feels great.)

This goes for whether there's trees or not.

I have been thinking about making some kind of rain gaiter that  
covers the whole top of my shoes from like the ankle down but chances  
are my feet would just get hot and sweaty. I still want to try it  
someday. Affix them with Velcro like Dirty Girl gaiters.
