Switchback replies: This brings up a good point --- the PCT April Kickoff at Lake Morena. I know they have a gear Silent Auction. I have contributed to it to raise funds. This makes me think of the old school day's Sadie Hawkins dances. The ladies asked the gentlemen to the dance or to dance at the event. Also, the movie Groundhog Day had a scene at the end of the movie where the ladies bid on the men on a stage. Why can't the Kickoff have the same thing? 
 
The ladies would bid on young, strong, hulking hiking males. The money would go to supporting the PCT. Once the fellow is bought, anything goes as long as it is not illegal. You could even trade them among the ladies as needed.
 
Once the Kickoff is over his freedom is returned and he happily goes off up the trail. Simple. You could even have premium or platinum bids that means he is yours until you get to Hiker Heaven at Agua Dulce. That would be some 454 miles up the trail.
 
The funds raised for the trail would be breath-taking. Once again, Switchback comes through for the hiking community with another brilliant idea. I thank you.
