I looked for an M & M on the trail for over 4,000 mi, before finding one
on the PCT, in OR, in 08. I was beginning to feel deprived. That dust was
good!

You'll be so hungry you could eat anything, and you will.

Heh, the old joke about M&M's and hikers: a day hiker never notices the
M&M's dropped on the trail, the section hiker notes them and wonders, the
thru hiker stops to eat them...

Last year I was section hiking on the PCT north of Sierra City munching on
M&M's and met up with Trout Lilly. We chatted for a bit and stopped for
lunch and I pulled out the M&M's and she said, "You're the one I've been
following! Those taste soooo good!" and I died laughing and told her the M&M
and hikers joke...
