I second the rain chaps. That is what I use. However, wet silnylon
feels exactly like being wet when it's against your skin if you wear
shorts like I did to prevent excess sweating. Sweat too much inside
the chaps and you get wet pants from the inside. I have come to the
conclusion that you can't stay dry in the rain, except maybe for the
top of your head under an umbrella, and that the best you can do is
to not get cold.
