[pct-l] Heet Supply on PCT

I used an alcohol burning stove along the PCT. I found It absolutely no problem to get Yellow Heet or Denatured Alcohol everywhere except Tuolumne Meadows. The outfitter there only had Red Heet which is Isopropyl alcohol. It worked with
my Caldera cone but was sooty and a lot slower to boil. I found that adding a small amount of water to my alcohol stretched it a bit though it slowed boil times. Sisters Oregon TOTALLY has HEET or DENATured alcohol.. That place it like a Metroplis compared to most PCT locales. The little Baring Store near the Dinsmores had 19 Bottles of Yellow Heet on the shelf! I was apprehensive about getting alcohol for my stove but I never ran out as it turned out. I mostly carried 12 ounces or less though for the Sierras I had a full 1 liter Platy.. Which was total overkill in hindsight. I forget where it was but one hardware store was selling PCT'ers whitegas by mistake! Some places sell by the ounce so make sure they know you ain't carrying some ancient backpacking stove! They will totally trip out when you show them your "beer can" stove, it's hilarious!
