Albert Camus wrote, "Man is the only creature that refuses to be what he is."

Every day Americans wake up and wonder how to spend money.
Every day Chinese, Indians, Africans wake up and wonder how to make money.
Every day religious people wonder why are they here.
Every day philosophers wonder what is the mind and what is our relationship with reality.
Every day stoners wonder where am I?

I wonder what I am; that is what are we as humans. I think that we need to know that before we can address those larger questions. The only way to learn what we are is to see what our bodies are designed to do and what we do best. If you have read "Born to Run" then you have an idea that what humans are best at is endurance running and walking. Why not stop refusing to be what we are and totally immerse our humanness and enjoy doing what we do best. Enjoy feeling your body move fluidly and easily. Enjoy the freedom of just being human.

I know that is wordy and logical and that we feel this rather than consciously think it. It is so basic to our nature that we don't think to put it in words. That's probably why it is a tough question to answer. Next time someone asks, just say, "I chose to be what I am, why do you chose to refuse to be what you are?"
