I'd like to be able to say, "Go to http://limmerboot.com/, click on their order form and read their recommendation under 'Fitting Aids for Volume,'" but I can't. Suffice it to say that if you read all they have there under "Boot Information" you'll realize that the family has been building custom boots for generations and they know their stuff regarding boots and feet. If you click on "Journey Journal" you'll see that their boots have been tried and tested.

However, it was in a phone conversation with Karl Limmer, himself, where he recommended that the three of us all use Superfeet, blue version. We, in the course of product testing, have tried the different Superfeet footbeds and settled on the blue anyway--seemed to make our feet happier!

Which ever footbed you choose must come from your own experimentation and on-trail experience with your own feet and not those of someone else. This is not going to be a simple answer, but will require time, the trial of different models and brands, time to hike a long enough distance to "feel the difference," and the cooperation of your feet.
