My take on the SPOT...  my daughter Carol is hiking the John Muir Trail at
the present time. 
They have a Spot with them and for me here at home and unable to hike
anymore I am really
enjoying the benefit of receiving daily messages from the spot.  I can see
where they have been 
and are going, it makes me feel that I am Participating in the hike also.
