[pct-l] staying in shape when off trail

Just because I don't want anyone to be discouraged from section hiking if
they can't/don't/won't devote the time to off-season training, here is
another (not ideal) option: just plan to start slow and work up and listen
to your body--pay attention to your feet, anywhere that is hurting and make
adjustments. Use trekking poles. Think about <10 mile days to start,
depending on terrain and plan accordingly to work up to your desired
mileage.

Any increased activity you can do at home will help (take the stairs at
work, carry things while you take the stairs, park further away, walk during
your breaks, keep a packed backpack ready for when you can take a short
walk) but you can still be a successful section or thru-hiker if training
just isn't going to be possible.
