I love those Salomons too but sadly have not found them to be very durable
... I went through a few pairs on the PCT and they got less than 500 miles
apiece (and I wasn't replacing them until they had serious holes and very
little tread left), and I've gone through a couple pairs since even without
all that sustained hiking. But I keep buying them anyway, because they're
so comfortable!

I wore my shoes out just before the kickoff. Rolled the dice and went with
a whole new brand. Silly I know, but it worked. In the past I have tried
most
major brands. The moment I put these on my world changed. This is what
shoes should feel like. Great support in the arch and heal.?Wiggle room
for my toes. Available in half sizes above 12. They have a river
running version, I wonder how the would work in the Sierras?

I have gone to the dark side and paid way to much for a pair of shoes. Now
I just need to see if the extra $ will pay for itself in durability. I'm
sure others
have boasted the advantages?of adventure racing shoes here before. But now
I'm
wearing Salomon shoes.
