[pct-l] Oregon Sec C - Jack Spring?

I hiked down to Jack Spring a few weeks ago, and wished I hadn't.  It wasn't dry, but getting water was almost impossible, and it is a long hike off trial.  I didn't try Ranger Spring.  There is good water on the trail pretty close.
 
It might seem crazy to just go as far as Hwy. 62, but I know that Crater Lake Rim is often closed or closing down for cars by early Oct.  So planning on Mazama Village is probably a good idea, and taking in the rim would be a great treat if possible/passable!
