Sequoia Giganteum Scoundrel Switchback replies:?I want to say that I know a lot of hard core hiker trash PCT backpackers ---?both young and old.? These are mountainmen of every type and fame.? They are a fine group of pals and bros.? One thing we all have in common is the ability to keep our significant other happy and safe on the trail.? Remember the mountainmen of old.? They were very famous for taking care of their Indian maidens.? They spared no expense to shower them with gifts and honor.? It was a badge of respect and status how well you could take care of your better half.



So, it is with us modern day hard core PCT backpacker pirates.? Now I must admit that I have been know to try to auction off some fetching captives now and then for horses and blankets.? But these are only momentary lapses in an otherwise sterling resume of good will and kind deeds.? Let's not have a few tall tails and embellished gossip over a camp fire overshadow the generosity and charity of the real Switchback the Trail Pirate.
