Hy gang,
Due to miscommunication I have erroneously stated that Brett's menu
consisted of 21,000 calories daily, when in fact it consisted of
approximately 20,000 calories for the 3 day, 14 hrs, 13 minutes duration
of his hike.

> Hi gang,
>> This has been an exiting year for record attempts....Scott and Adam
>> on the PCT and Brett Maune, Jeff Kozak, Michael Popov, and Ian
>> Alloway on the JMT.
>> Jeff bailed at Kearsarge Pass, Michael bailed at Tuolumne Mdw. and
>> the results are not yet in for Ian.
>> Brett Maune, however, as incredible as it may seem, broke both
>> Michael's unsupported and Sue ''Stinky feet'' Johnston's supported
>> record but going unsupported utilizing a high tech menu consisting
>> of ''Perpetuem & Recoverite" delivering 21,000.........yes 21,000
>> calories a day.
>> Holy Toledo!!!...... that is more calories a day than I consumed
>> during any of my entire JMT fastpacks.
>> He finished in 3 days, 14 hrs, 13 minutes from the Portal and in 3
>> days, 9 hrs, 58 minutes from the Whitney summit.
>> Wow.....that is really smoking.
>>
>> Boy, these boys have taken this JMT thing to a whole new level.
>> When I first hiked the JMT in 1996 I was wearing waffle stumper
>> boots, hauling a 85 lb pack and cooking oat meal and freeze dries on
>> a whisper lite stove.
>> You have to hand it to those boys, they have really taken this speed
>> hiking to an entirely new level.
>> I can't congratulate them enough.
